Eternal Perspective

In three days, our project will go from 115 students, to about 25. The semester kids leave this Saturday, and some of them have already left :(. It feels like the summer has flown by, but at the same time, it's time to go back into the real world and practice what we've learned here.

This week's theme is eternal perspective, living in light of the hope we have of eternity in heaven rather than the temporary things of this world. Eternity is such a huge concept, and I really hadn't thought much about it until this week. But the more I think about it, the more excited AND nervous I get. The Bible has so much to say about how great heaven is! But it's also been eye-opening to think about all the ways I don't live for eternity, but instead live for happiness on earth.

Tonight is the Farewell Banquet, which is just crazy. I can't believe people have already started leaving!! Tomorrow is clean up day, and then Saturday is departure day. Next week will look a lot different, and it will be weird to n0t be in a room or bible study with my roommates. But I hope it will be a good time to get to know some of the other quarter student and Northwestern girls better.
