Home

I've only been home for almost 2 weeks, but already project feels like a dream. It's been weird transitioning back into "normal" life.

Some pluses of home include:
  • seeing my family together for the first time since March
  • home cooking :)
  • my own room + air conditioning!
  • seeing high school friends
  • getting to reconnect with my bible study girls!
All in all, it has been great to be home, but also a reality check, reminding me that I don't live in the "project bubble" all the time and that my relationship with the Lord is constant, and not dependent on how spiritually high I feel or where I am or who I am around. Learning to continue to meet with Him regularly and grow in my faith no matter what circumstances is something I am definitely experiencing right now, and even though it's not easy, I think it's preparing me to return to school, where it's going to be even harder to continue to make my time with the Lord a priority.

Just to wrap up my summer, I'll share three big things the Lord has taught me this summer:
  • God is faithful and has the best possible plan for my life -- by drawing myself closer to Him and molding my desires to His, instead of trying to mold His plan to mine, I will find true joy in whatever He brings me to
  • Brokenness is a state of being -- not guilty or condemned in our sin, but convicted, and in our conviction, we are able to magnify and more fully appreciate Jesus's sacrifice for our messed up lives
  • Only through the Holy Spirit can I live the Christian life and truly walk in the way of the Lord
If anything, I hope my experiences this summer were able to encourage you wherever you find yourself spiritually. This summer has been amazingly transformative in my life already, and I know the Lord will continue to be working in my life. It's not easy - just in my weeks at home that has been real for me. But I believe wholeheartedly in the Lord, and that He is working things together for good in His plan. To everyone who has been supporting me, encouraging me and praying for me, I can't thank you enough. It has been such a blessing in my life! If you want to know more about my summer or talk further, please don't hesitate to do so. I'd love to share and hear about your summer!
